Part 5 of the home-buying process: Closing the sale

Ready to close the sale?  There are a few things you might want to know on the way...

First off, you'll deal with a title officer who will help you review and organize all the documents you will need to close. There will be loads of paperwork, and trust us, you'll need assistance sorting it all out. And get your writer's hand ready because you'll be signing your name... a lot!  You may have to sign your name 300 to 400 times before escrow is closed, and that's no exaggeration.

You'll also have a final walk-through of the home with your REALTOR®. This walk-through is often scheduled the day before closing to make sure everything is in as-promised condition.  If something is amiss, it will need to be resolved before closing is completed.

Once everything is said and done, you'll receive your set of shiny new keys. At this point - congratulations, you are now a home owner!
